    Some lovely choices there Nat.

I've made two very simple cards this morning..both floral and both with butterflies..not my finest work..but simple and relatively effective.

Lots of inspiration there , Nat. Thanks.
Nice cards Elaine. I like butterflies, flowers and the colour blue, so
    they would suit me fine

They are both very pretty cards Elaine, I love turquoise and green together. It will definitely be butterflies for me, I was horrified when I saw the flies initially and then the beetles - uggghh!

Thanks ladies...beetles are definitely not my thing either..but I did think of fairies too..but I don't think my friends would like fairies! I have a couple of ladybirds that might feature later in the month.

Ha, sorry to squick you out Susie! I didn't even see beetles, lol. I was more intrigued by bees, dragonflies, butterflies, and those ink lines. hehe

I really like the turquoise/green combo Elaine, just love that shade of Kelly green with a light blue contrast. And the embossing reminds me a lot of the ink drawings in the prompt of the floral backdrop. Really lovely.

I hate creepy crawlies Nat and they are called that for a reason, mainly because they are creepy and they crawl. I particularly hate earwigs after seeing one crawling up my little sister's face when we were kids playing in the cut grass. Well, I was playing, she was sleeping. Big sister saved her though. Do kids still make houses out of cut grass as we used to? We had enough of the stuff as we had lawns then grass verges and beyond an enormous park, so we loved it when the grass cutter came round.

I am so annoyed with myself - I'm chalking an embossed design and I've started colouring in the flowers in pink and I wish I'd done them in turquoise which was the original idea, especially now I've seen your gorgeous colours Elaine. Ah well, it will fit with the other colour prompts I suppose. Just got to figure out what I'm going to do with it next!

Is it me or have earwigs almost disappeared? When I was little they were everywhere...especially in the flowers my Mum grew on our allotment! But I rarely, if ever, see them now!
Love the idea of bees..there are a couple of peacocks I've just noticed in the images too..hmm..food for thought!
I'm sure your chalked embossing with be beautiful and subtle whatever you do with it Susie.

Well I'm back..I had a male card to send that has to go in the post today so I cracked on and made this.
I used the navy and yellow and then I had intended to add jade..only it turned out that the paper I had chosen was more bottle green than jade..so...I went with it and I chose Glitz 'Dapper Dan' anyway
I used Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge for the stamping and added a twist of navy and white bakers twine too.
    It looks better IRL..honest!

What a great male card, I find them so hard to make. I love the circle embossing folder.

The jury's out on the chalking Elaine but thank you very much anyway and last year I saw more earwigs than I've seen in years, so watch out!

I made my Mothers Day card in a reddy pink like the colour palette..but I couldn't see whereto add a winged insect so I stuck with flowers. My first easel card.

That is stunning Elaine! At first glance I thought it was a cake, it looked so delicious, as if you'd iced it. It's just beautiful.
