Thanks Ellie. Will be happy if the momentum continues this year, I failed miserably in 2015!

I've had it for a few years. The dies are a new addition, Christmas present from DD2
My DH bought me an X-Cut Express, and she bought me some dies, so it seemed
rude not to try it out!! :lol

    Ellie.
How are you finding the X-Cut Ellie? I have just had to return my second one. The first was dreadful and the second was a real problem too, although I didn't realise how much until I tried a Big Shot ( or some such thing) and that was so easy to use. Mind had so many flat spots, especially on the outer edges of the rollers. We expect it to be in the middle. One of our sponsors has taken it back and are going to send a replacement for me to try which is fantastic of them since I've had the machine for 2 years now, but it does have a lifetime guarantee, which I'd forgotten to be honest.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade at all, yours may well be brilliant and it could just be that I got mine when they first came out and they had teething problems. It took me four attempts just to emboss an A4 folder the other day, such a waste of time, energy and card stock. The sides came out flatter than the middle!!!

I'm looking forward to receiving my new X-Cut and hopefully this one will do the job because I do love the dial and not having to mess about with different plates, although with the one I had I was still using shims all over, kind of defeating the object of the dial really. Thank goodness I have my trusty Cuttlebug to fall back on.

Beautiful card Nat. I love the bells with the twine, it's all very pretty.

    Thanks girls!

The store I bought them at online is out of stock, but if you google mini silver bells or similar there are other craft stores selling them. I bought them in a packet of 10.

Hope you have a lovely night crafting Alison!

Susie, to be honest I have only used the X-Cut a few times.
I haven't had time because my dad is in hospital, and that is taking all my time.
When I used it to die cut it was fine, and the embossing was a revelation for me.
    It did it beautifully.
Perhaps as you say, yours was one of the first, and had teething problems.
But it is disappointing, when it doesn't do the job properly.
Hope the next one comes up to expectations

I'm delighted for you Ellie. It sounds as though yours works as I hoped mine would, so fingers crossed for the next one.

Sorry to hear about your dad, I know exactly what that is like. Sometimes you wonder why there aren't more hours in the day just to keep everything ticking over. Take care of yourself, it's so easy to forget about your own health when you are looking after other family members.x

I was tempted by the x cut but my big shot is still working fine, and I am still happy with it. I did get a small electronic silhouette for my birthday, need to clear my desk so I can have a proper play with it.

I managed to make some cards last night, will try and photograph tomorrow and upload

I have managed one card so far from the photo inspiration. Used the black and white, and pink, but used stars instead of flowers..

    Wow ladies, what fabulous cards!

Nat, I think I tried to leave a message on your Blog but had problems again, it's me as usual. Anyway, love the card and particularly love the Happy Birthday sentiment, love the flourish font.

Alison that is such a striking card, I love the stars and the matching twine is the perfect finishing touch.

Ellie, another gorgeous card! What a great background, is that a card stock, I can't say I ever seen that before? If it is whose is it please?

I feel ashamed, I'm still doing Meerkats!!!

Thanks Susie. Yep its card stock . It's Docraft, Forever Friends, Classic Decadence...
I have had it for a while, it's a pack of mixed patterns.
The stars are some die cuts , X-Cut, I think.
