    October 2015 Simple Recipes

    Hi!

It's time for the October Simple Recipes Mood Board!

This month I looked at mixing watercolour style with metallic gold. Pastel/watercolour tones are an unusual choice for autumn but they provide you with a fresh perspective and adding metallic gold gives them a rustic twist to give them the autumnal feel.

There are so many different ways to incorporate gold into your projects. One of my favourite gold products is gold leaf. Obviously you're not going to be using the real stuff in your craft projects but the Dutch gold or gold foils are available from many craft shops and it's so cool to play with and add sparkly touches. Because of the nature of it and the haphazard, (read not so neat!) way it applies it gives you the rustic look without you having to try, it just happens! Another project I picked out to add to the moodboard is the gold dipped leaf idea because they make really cool embellishments for autumnal projects. You could also apply the idea to leaves, be it real ones for home décor or die cut out ones for your paper craft projects. There are many tutorials for these online but most use ModPodge then either glitter or gold leaf. Spray paint is also used as it's nice and light so it won't make the feather stick to itself and you can get the really chrome shiny ones. There are lots of other ideas on the board so do check out the full project sheet.

The project is in universal PDF format so you can download it to view it on your PC, smart phone and/or tablet device, (I store mine on my Kindle Fire Just access this page on your chosen device, press on the link above then choose to save the download when prompted.

I completed this in October, but oly managed to upload today, I used the lovely green as my mail colour and lots of grunge paste squished through a stencil to add texture

Just in time! I actually did this layout two weeks ago but am a bit behind with my uploading. Loved the mood board and am looking forward to the new one too.
