Yep. I sometimes use peel-off greetings (Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary etc) and also flexible borders to edge nestie shapes etc. I wouldn't use them for a lot of my card styles, but they work really well with some styles of card.
I made this fun pop-up piano card recently and used them on the front (a white greeting and silver flexible border - the matting is holographic silver so it matched in nicely).

I do use them 'judiciously' - and NEVER with a swirly gold word 'at a jaunty angle'! I rarely use silver or gold ones, but I do use black borders and white and black wording, particularly the tiny words. And sometimes I colour the white ones.
And I've used black triangular Christmas trees on green card, cut out and mounted on a plain small card base with a tiny 'Merry Christmas' and they look amazingly effective, and so quick if you have loads to do.
But I do have nightmares about some of the more elaborate 'Bookatrix'-type cards which have gold peel-offs EVERYWHERE. Often at a 'jaunty angle'
I use the straight lines to 'edge' a mat, or as an interrupted frame with the sentiment within it, just inside the edge of the card blank. Also use sentiments quite a lot, sometimes letters and numbers. I have no hope of ever using all the ones I bought when I was getting started - some of them 15+ years ago - all the various specialised images such as drills & hammers, musical instruments etc etc. I do like the idea of using them on acetate. Also, I keep meaning to use them in some sort of 'mask' technique, but haven't got around to experimenting yet
Oh and I did discover a few years ago that they are good for glass painting, saves fiddling around with that outline paste stuff

Used them when I first started cardmaking in 2004 but after a year, I stopped using them completely as I got into stamping. Without sounding rude I don't think I'll ever touch them again.

Those Glitter Girls do love their peel-offs, don't they?

I think that's true for quite a few people. I use them where someone who's into stamping would probably use heat embossing.
So many people are now making dies to use for the sentiments - Marieanne, Brittania and Rob Addams (his are lovely) and, of course, there is the Hot Foil Wizard - I use that a lot as I can personalise the cards and make the writing large or small as I wish.
