    Grand Calibur or Ebosser

    Hi

Want some advice as to whether to get Grand Calibur or Ebosser?

    What do people suggest.

    Thanks

I'm surprised no one has answered. I don't have either one so am not the voice of authority, but my crafty mates have them.

Ebosser is electric. That could be good, so long as it doesn't break down. The Grand Calibur is hand powered, so electricity access is never an issue and it's less likely to break.

The Ebosser takes the Bigz dies. The Grand Calibur can only handle the thin dies. If you can't live without the thick dies (Bigz, Tim Holtz, etc.) then you'll have to have the Ebosser.

If you can afford it, you might consider a Big Shot Pro.

I had the ebosser demoed to me and the plates got stuck....they had to be bashed out with a hammer. Although it takes the bigz dies, it wont cut thick chipboard. IE mountboard which the big shot/bug will do.
Plus it didnt cut a cherry lynn doile die as well as my big shot

The calibur will only take thin does like nesties and Ive "heard" that the "mechanics" inside are aluminimum as opposed to steel (like the big shot) so will soften in time.

The big shot, in my opinion, is a real workhorse so, if I decide to go A4 I will spend the extra and get the big shot pro. I know it will cut all materials, mountboard and its manual. Electric machines ie the vagabond have not had good reviews.
