Technique Thursday with Cal: 13 Sept - Melted art backgrounds

I'm back ! Well its certainly been a busy summer in this household. We've had tons of building work done, and its been like living in the middle of Alton Towers for the whole summer. Thankfully, all the building work is complete, and its just the internal decorating that needs doing .... for now anyway!

Upwards and onwards, and here's the first of a series of melted art background techniques. There are various ways of doing this technique, and I'm hoping that over the next few weeks, we'll share the different ways.

We'll be using good old fashioned Crayola crayons for this technique, or any other crayons that you can get your hands on ... here's some samples, and a whole page of them from Pinterest.

For the visual learners, here's a couple of you tube videos to help you.

I have also attached a tutorial to get you started - have fun !

As always, it will be great to see samples of the projects you create. Please link to this thread.

    Catch ya next week !

A while ago I saw some things done with wax crayons and was kicking myself because I thought I'd chucked away our huge box of crayons (youngest is now 16 ) ... I hadn't - I found the box tidied away at the back of a drawer. So when time allows I'll definitely be having a go - thanks Cal!

Ooh, you got me looking on the Pintrest page. I just loved the heart melted wax crayon pictures. I may have to go out & buy supplies & have a play. Just wish I knew where my glue gun & canvas's are. I have other ideas for adaptation. Thanks for getting me fired up xx
Just thought I have other glue types that should work ( Silicone sealent & no more nails type adhesive)
Not been on here for ages ( years?), so some may still know me. I have recently moved house & have a Craft studio in the garden, but still in the stage of unpacking & stocking it all, so at the moment most of my stuff may be digi based.

Yes, I am also on your Facebook. I was one of the Lurvies chatterers years ago.
Maybe one day I will be able to make it to the crop/ meet up. Hadn't done much crafting for ages, but just moved house & got myself a Craft Studio/ Summerhouse in the garden. I am still setting it up, but wanted to get creative properly again so thought I'd rejoin on here.
