    sticking embellishments

    Hello
I have a lot of favour boxes to make with different decorations. Some are metallic butterflies also paper roses and pearl sprays etc. Do you think a hot glue gun is the best option for sticking them to the boxes.
I've never used one but want a strong & quick drying bond.
I've made a few boxes and the wired stemmed pearls and diamantes I've just threaded through the ribbon knot and corkscrewed the stem of the wire, it looks quite pretty.
Anyway if you could let me know what you think about the glue gun I'd be very grateful, also any recommendations for a particular glue gun would be very welcome too.
    Thanks
    Tricia

The trouble with glue guns is, even with a great deal of practice, the glue tends to be visibly and bulky, with often a yellow tinge from heating
I have great results from Crystal Effects, which is clear craft lacquer. It's listed as a finishing product, but is great at sticking awkward materials and small shapes, and can order you a bottle if you'd like (I'm a UKS sponsor)
It's here in the flash version on my catalogue, or on page 114 of the pdf version here.
    Hope this helps,
    Leanne x

Agreed, forget the heat gun and go for crystal effects from SU or Glossy Accents which is basically the same thing. If I have anything awkward to stick I go for glossy accents - it will stick pretty much anything!

That looks like the stuff I need, thanks.
Can I ask, does it show through ribbon and paper?
Even if it does it still sounds good, for card making too.
Never seen this before, thanks very much, I'll be ordering soon.

Which one? Glossy Accents is gloopier and slightly cloudy, whereas my Crystal Effects is smoother, and completely clear

I just hope you find it works for what you need - yesterday I used mine to death, sticking cogs and gears to collage pieces, then mounting it all on a board - here's the finished article
If you need it ordering, I can do a postage deal for you being a UKSer, if not, no worries - but I'm sure we'd all love to see the finished project so we can ooh and aah over it!

That's very good and yes I'd love a bottle please. Let me know how to buy it from you.
What is it actually for? giving paper a gloss?
When I've used it I'll put up the results.
    Thanks

I've PMed order details, thank you!
It's meant for giving a 3D or lacquered glossy finish to items. I've used it like that a couple of times, but love it as an adhesive too, for sticking anything - paper, plastic, metal, card, wood, acetate, charms, buttons... Today I made an ornament, a layout, and four cards with it
