    Photo printing advice please

I have edited a photo from colour to black and white and then printed it with my printer. The black/darkest areas on the photo have printed in a 'red' shade. I thought this may have been to do with my printer so I have cleaned the heads and done other cleaning processes but it is still printing the same!
    Any advice please?

See if your printer settings have an option for 'greyscale'. Using that, if you have it, should solve the problem

I have changed my setting to greyscale and I printed another photo but it hasn't made any difference!

Could I have 'pushed' the black/darker scale up too far when editing - making the 'shadow' of red on the photo? IYKWIM.

I am having the same problem with all of my photo's editing in Picassa and printing at home. I thought it was something to do with my printer and have even bought different paper but still no luck.
    Very frustrating

Glen, are you using photoshop to edit? If so take the red filter right down, this should stop the problem.

Can you tell your printer to use black ink only - My Lexmark has this option. If it's still red after doing that, there's something wrong with the ink!

I bought some cheap paper and on every photo I printed this happened, a colour shadowing each part of the picture. I have never used cheap paper since and i have never had the problem since.
I guess what i am trying to say is, it could be the paper not the the printer.

Thank you for your suggestions ladies. I only ever use Epson ink and Epson paper and I checked my ink levels which are all good.

I didn't use Photoshop but Roxiosuite which came on my pc years ago, so I did use Fotoflexer in the end to edit (before reading this post) and it printed better. I will try get a pic to put here for you to see. It's one of 2 of my grandchildren. I LOVE their facial expressions. I now have it in my bathroom and it makes me smile first thing in the morning!

This is the photo but I am not sure if you can see the 'reddish' areas around Eden's head and neck.
