How do you
sell your cards/advertise yourself as a card maker?! Also, do you put any special tag on your cards, for example your name on the back of them, or a certain stamp on the back of them all to tag them as *yours*?

I have self adhesive stickers that I put on the back of every card I make. It has my name and an email address that is just used for card making - seems to work !

Thanks for the reply, anybody else have any ideas/information?

Scrap Happy
I put my cards in a box at work; they're stamped on the back with a personalised seal stamp I got from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.
Sometimes people ask me to make a personalised card and I'm happy to do the odd one, but I wouldn't like the pressure of creating to demand on a regular basis.
Recently I made a card for a friend, which I would have been happy to do for nothing. She insisted on giving me something, however, which was very nice and I did appreciate the thought. From an objective viewpoint, though, I found it interesting that my friend had clearly valued the card at about half what I would have conservatively estimated the price to be. We all know how that works, lol. So putting them in a basket works fine for me as really I'm just trying to shift them out of the house!
PS: I tried to link a photo of the card cos I really like it, but although it's showing on the message window now, it doesn't come up on the post. I've linked the URL of the gallery page - what am I doing wrong?

I do exactly the same as this.
I originally had a personalised stamp made ('Handmade by' and my name) and stamped the back of the cards, but I switched to stickers about a year ago because I wanted to include my email address.

Paper addict extraordinaire
Think I've fixed it for you Helen, if wanting to embed a pic from your UKS gallery you need to copy the code from the "Linked Image:" box.

i bought blank labels (either from the internet or a stationers) so that i could make what I needed. I normally have card ones printed but I've since had to make ones for gifts and I've also made ones with my sons name on as he's getting to be quite the cardmaker himself! This way you can make them in a word document, print as needed and change details along with technology!

Loves playing with Studio
This got me thinking. I once acquired a couple of sheets of small, clear, printable labels which were really good as you could put them on any colour card so the printing was visible but the label hardly at all.....
Sounds off - Ruth rifling through her files
Found a sheet - Avery Laser L7551 38.1 x 21.2mm- 65 to a page. I think they are really for laser jet printers but you can use in an inkjet ifyou play with the settings.
Have just tried printing one and it's OK, a bit wet but should dry off ok.
Have had a look at the Avery website and cannot find that particular type of label, but the principle of clear labels stands.

Thanks for all the replies! I've seen a few people selling cards through facebook, but it just seems as if they've got a photo up of the card, and have written a price in the photo description.... how do they get people to pay?

i would think most people would use paypal if they weren't selling face to face. Safest and quickest way.

How do you give somebody your paypal account for them to pay into? I've only ever paid for things through ebay or high street store-websites =/

They would need to know the email address that is registered to the paypal account so that they could pay you
-
It's that simple?! Thanks
