    ANFSCD 05 :: Get Ready!

Ready for some crafty fun with us this month? Here's what you'll need!

    For supplies...
Choose one multi-coloured patterned paper (go bright if possible!) then all the colours for everything else will be colours from that multi-coloured pattern.
Two other single colour patterned papers (one colour from the multi-coloured pattern plus white or cream or grey or black)
One sheet neutral cardstock - white or cream is preferable (whichever matches your patterned papers) or kraft might work. Steer clear of the dark neutrals - no black, dark grey, navy or java, okay?

Two lettering options - one big, one small. I'm using stickers to match the colours in the patterned papers. If you prefer, you could use stamps with coloured inks or die-cut letters from the patterned papers (you'll have enough to make it work).

For the embellishments, some twine or thread, a mist or paint, and some brads (you don't need a whole pack - just easier to photograph them that way!) -- for all of these, pick colours to match your multicoloured patterned paper. PLUS paper doilies. If you buy these, they usually come in white. If you die-cut them, they could be any colour you like. They don't need to be any exact size - you can get an idea from the picture, but these are about the size of a drinks coaster.

The papers I'm using are from Pebbles Hip Hip Hooray (the multi-coloured dot), American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan (the orange with white polka dot), Lily Bee Design Buttercup (turquoise with repeating pattern) and white dotted Swiss cardstock. I love the dotted finish but it's not a requirement at all - use any cardstock you like.

    AND the PHOTOS!
This month you need a photo strip! You can use a photo booth app on your phone or computer or you can make one by taking four different photos and arranging them in a strip. I'm using black & white but you can do colour if you prefer. One easy way is to use this photo strip maker at the Big Huge Labs website. There are plenty of tutorials out there if you want to look for other options. Instagram fans might like these steps.

So... ten days to gather your gear and make your photo choices, then I'll see you back here with the 20 step process on the 20th of May!!

    **PLEASE NOTE**
I'm behind on both posting April's winners on the board and posting prizes in the mail after being away and then ill (bah!) but I am catching up. Look for the winners from April to be posted this weekend, and those waiting for a prize, I got them arranged yesterday so now just need to post them to you. Thanks so much for your patience.

    Thumbs up

Love the colour choices Shimelle! I really enjoyed this challenge last month so am giving it another go this month... for once I've managed to get my supplies together on the 10th!

Here's a pic... I've chosen older papers all round:

    - Dear Lizzy Spring Beehive Brunch (the pennant printed paper)
    - Echo Park Happy Days Scalloped (the red polka dot)
    - Crate Paper Paper Doll Allie (the green tone on tone print)
    - white Bazzill cardstock
    - AC Niki Riki Thickers in yellow
    - Jenni Bowlin red alpha (the only new item and I'm hoping it will work even though it's cream rather than white)
    - Jenni Bowlin paint dabber in Lemon Drop
    - red bakers twine from my Christmas wrap set that I never used
    - a handful of pink and white flower brads

I don't have paper doilies yet, but will get some at the weekend. Now I just have to choose some photos!

I'm excited. This is the first time I've actually chosen my supplies before the 20th. Here they are:

Echo Park Sweet Summer Time Raspberry Delight (multi-coloured)
    K & Co Hannah (blue)
    Pebbles Season's Greetings (Green)
    DCWV White Cardstock
Letters are MME Lush and JBS. I hope the JBS ones will work as they're not the greatest colour match to the paper.
    Three choices of thread
My only doily is more of a coaster, or I could cut a piece from a Crate Paper doily paper - we'll have to see what works.
Brads - my coloured ones look a bit big so I have small metallic ones too.
Ink/Paint - I only have a few and they are more earthy colours. I might need to improvise here.

As for photos, I haven't printed any yet, but I have some continuous shooting photos of a roller-coaster at Thorpe Park that may work as a strip.

Love this photobooth app. I had the perfect pictures for it! Now to select the supplies. Shimelle, Thank you -- you have got me making layouts again as opposed to just collecting papers and supplies.
