Can someone tell me if I have to buy a base tray to use these or have any of you clever ladies come up with a money saving alternative. What I want to do is cut out a shape in the corner of a card iyswim

I have the valise die and the space in it is quite big so I cut my movers and shapers in there.... Saves me buying the tray and works perfectly fine!
