I'm very disappointed - what did I do wrong?

Bought Inka Gold paints - painted some onto core-dinations cardstock, buffed up - BEAUTIFUL - stamped on top with stazon - even more beautiful - shiny sparkly clear embossing powder over top - even more beautiful. Cut down into ATC size - and all the paint is peeling off the card stock - awful.

Any idea what I've done wrong? Sould I have sanded the cardstock do you think to give it a 'key' for the paint to stick to?

now disappointed as it was a lot of work/time for nothing.

Maybe you needed to cut the card first? I know sometimes if you cut across embossed bits they will chip off. V V disappointing I'm sure.

I haven't tried it but maybe it's the core-dinations, just guessing that as it's designed to have the top layer sanded or whatever to show the core colour so maybe there's a kind of coating on it?

Hi Gilly. I've had a similar problem with the same cardstock that I haven't had with, for example, normal bazzill. It does seem to have a coating on it which is fine until it's cut. Maybe try bazzill, but I don't know how you can rescue what you have already done - sorry

thanks for the replies people. I think it might be the cardstock - will try again, shame as it was so so beautiful when I finished it.

well I sanded the card and tried a different card - did the same techniques on them and again they turned out scrumptious .................

alas I did a bit of careful bending of the cards and again it's all just flaking off - afraid to say I am not impressed.

It may be the embossing on the top.................so will have to do just the card with the paints and see what happens - expensive waste if it is the paints.

    thanks for your input peeps.
