hi there everyone,i,m quite new to all this craft cameo machine,which kindly my husband brought me for xmas,i have been ok with buying templates,and cutting them out but as to trying to make my own,i,m struggling,i have been trying to use inkscape software, but still have no clue,any tips kindly appreciated please

Welcome Rachel, if you aren't familiar with graphic programs why don't you consider starting with the Studio free software, then down the track if you find it doesn't do everything you would like to do, go over to Inkscape. Have a read of this sticky thread it will tell you where everything is.

just been looking through the tutorials for the silhouette software,and a big thank you to everyone that replied,it was very helpful,so just hoping that i can remember how to do it,watch this space lol

I use a third party software with my Cameo, and just love it.....I also have Design studio, but prefer the other program, not sure if it's okay to mention it here, newbie here so don't know all the outs yet.......but it's alot better than inkscape, but not free.

I'm a newish silhouette user too. As well as the brilliant tutorials on here, if you are a Facebook user, there's a tutorial just posted on designing from scratch. The page is called Silhouette Cameo UK.
