An alternative to the Sizzix Movers & Shapers base tray?

Hi, i bought a couple of Sizzix dies & have realised that they require a Movers & Shapers base tray.

Does anyone know of an alternative way to use the dies?

    Thanks in advance!

The magnets are in the dies aren't they? So you just need something that they will stick too that is the right thickness - could you cut up a biscuit tin or something?? Just a thought

Don't you need the depth of the base tray as well? So that the edges of the paper aren't flapping about? I think I know what I mean, lol.....

I didnt realise I needed the tray when I bought a movers & shapers die cos it was in the sale! I've got one now though, I cant really see how it would work without it due to the depth of the tray and keeping everything stable as it goes through the machine. None of the other dies really do it for me, so i'm hoping i find some more i like otherwise that was a flipping expensive die!!!

Sorry that wasn't much help, just wanted to let you know your not alone in your frustration!

I bought a little bird mover and shaker and just pop it into my Tim Holtz tag die works fine if you have a small mover and shaker.

There are a couple of dies which work in the same way as the tray, although with a smaller aperture. The tag one, like you say, and also the Vintage Valise, which I bought last week in a sale because it's actually 6x4 which is an excellent size for mini albums, especially if you like to cut the pages as well as the covers from thicker materials. And it makes nice distressed-edge postcards too! Both of these are very useful, I've found.

I bought the little birdcage and just used it as it ,in my Cuttlebug - think I needed to play around with which plates I used but it cut fine in both paper and grunge board.
