    spirelli flower card

I made the templates for this card so it is copyright free. I have attached a thumbnail of one of the cards I made. I find it looks best if the flowers are made of card in different shades, and a couple are raised on 3D pads. It also looks good to only stick down along the centre of the leaves so that the edges are raised and this gives the card more 3D effect. I used gold thread on mine. I only make cards for charity and friends / family but this one has been really popular.

    Flowers

I know you can get flower dingbats but wanted to have a go at my own so came up with these, thought they might be of use to someone, I have grouped each flower so they are easy to resize.

    Sunflower

Hi, I have learned a lot while lurking here. Finally I have designed a few things and wanted to share. Hope you like them. The first is a sunflower I traced in Wishblade Advanced.

Only cut green lines for chalking of the leaves and or to create a pop-up for the flower petals.

    Dry embossing stencils

I know that the C&C demo did mention this but I think they used acetate. I tried acetate then used thin card - cheaper and did just as well.
Cut out two stencils as mirror images and put them one on top of the other so they match- these are approx A6 length - with the wrong side of your card facing you sandwich it between the stencils and secure with two paper clips- using a ball tool gently trace your shape - as you push down the card will be forced through the stencil on the lower side forming a raised design on the right side of the card..
The idea is exactly the same as that famous embossing system!!
I cut my stencils in 160 gr card -and they embossed perfectly. use the same technique for numbers, letters, Monograms on wedding stationery - the list is endless and if you ruin your stencil - just cut another one!
A tip - if you want to emboss in the middle of your card and are not sure how to line the stencils up just make them longer than the card, stick the ends together to make a kind of sleeve and slip your card in - the design will match up perfectly - this idea is great if you are doing monograms.
There are some dingbat fonts that would lend themselves beautifully to this technique as they look like stencils anyhow! Roses Roses for example.
If you want to use a traditional light box just cut one stencil!

    Have fun playing

    Rose & Rosebud Stencil cutout

I've only had my CR for a few weeks so I'm still very much a beginner at creating my own gsd files. I drew this Rose in CorelDraw to use as a cut out for the front of a card, but it could also be used as a stencil. I resizes very well, but if made too small some bits may be a bit fragile. Feel free to play with it & improve it. This is the first time I've uploaded anything here so there may not be a picture, I haven't worked that bit out yet!
