I have just posted my page into the gallery and am putting a step by step on my blog if anyone interested as it shows how I hid the journalling. You can see the page on my blog here or in the gallery here.

    Hi everyone

I decided to give it a go this afternoon with the kids. I told them (and myself!) - just to go for it. Well, I now have some lovely backgrounds. Now, I haven't stuck anything else on yet but I'm really pleased with how they look so far. And the best thing - it's really liberating. I am normally the sort of person who will fuss for hours on a scrapbook page and then throw the whole thing out if it's not just so. This time, I played with paints and inks and stuff and at first it looked a mess, but instead of giving up I just added more stuff, covered bits up, messed around some more and it comes together in the end. This is fab! Thanks everyone.

Had a great day in London, took loads of pics and video altho boy was it packed - my nerve actually gave out about 2pm cos of all the crowds and I escaped to the relative peace and quiet of Paperchase in Tottenham Court Road and bought handmade paper and washi tape. Also picked up Chinese newspapers and ephemera/bits'n'bobs that may come in useful too!

Then came home to some really exciting news - I've won Kate Crane's giveaway this weekend of her altered matchbox Rogues Gallery - how cool is that! AND she's only gone and left a really nice comment on my blog about my firey preconceptions page too - my fella thought I'd won the pools or the lottery the way I was dancing round the lounge earlier!

As well as paper and tape from Paperchase I also bought more white pens - I discovered that the white pen I originally had wasn't a Posca pen at all, it was a Zig Posterman... so I now have a bullet-point white Posca pen and also a fine-point Uni Paint marker. I also picked up a Snopake correction pen from Rymans, and this evening tried them all out in my journal over the spray inks.

The result? the Posca still showed up the colour from underneath, but the Snopake and the Uni Paint both show up as solid 'white', only difference is the Snopake has a matt finish whereas the Uni Paint is gloss - so I guess I now have a white pen for every eventuality!

Am looking forward to seeing whether the gloss finish from the Uni Paint marker would act as a resist... thats a game for tomorrow methinks cos I'm shattered - nite all!

    Well done Suzie.
Fab pages ladies I've been peeking this week when I've had a spare minute.
I've done the week 3 prompt and actually used some of my magazine hoard in it as well.

Claudia, Thanks for that - I'm also going to pop it in the main forum incase anyone wants to refer to it agian without digging through. Do you find all the backgrounds you create within the exercise are useable, or do you tend to get rid of or repurpose some or all of them afterwards?

Rebecca, are you going to share some of these lovely backgrounds with us please? I went blog hopping to find them, but didn't, and instead spend time laughing and crying over Isi and her sock fetish xxx

    Sharon, Lacemaker, Salamanda, well done

Suzie, congreats! That's a lovely little box of inspiration to have on hand Glad you enjoyed the celebrations, and why didn't I think of correction fluid?!

Nobody noticed the teaser for today on the homepage yet? Maybe if none of you are interested I shouldn't put the prompt up...

Sonja - you snuck in there on a cross post! Thank you for your 'thought' process, I always like to find out the inspirations and stories behind pages, to see if I've interpreted them how they were meant to be
As for SU Basic Gray, I know exactly what you mean, I've sold a fair few of those inkpads recently, I was wondering if people were realising black can be too stark sometimes

I noticed it first thing Leanie then went off to look for it and there was nothing there

Dont be a tease put it up - I have been looking forward to this one

Have started my third prompt and hope to get it finished and uploaded in the next day or two.

I am looking forward to getting on with this now and Sally (Salamanda) is going to encourage me to get messy at our next crop with paints and some paste stuff so I am looking forward to that

There you go, all up - sorry for the wait Suzy - It was only meant to be a joke, and I was going to put it straight up but for some reason I clicked 'User CP' and started reading through my subscriptions...

Oooh - journaling - for some reason tho cutting words out of magazines always makes me think of ransom notes and anonymous letters lol...

And I wish I could spell the word 'journaling' the right way first time - I always stick an extra 'L' in it grrr

Leanie - I thought you were just being mean and teasing us

Suzie - Im just the same with bits cut out of magazines

I would also go for spelling journalling with two "l's"
