I bought albums/protectors in various sizes from Arrowfile about 8 years ago, before I started scrapbooking and now I use them frequently and none of my photos even from 20 odd years ago have faded in any way, and they have protectors in various sizes as often I do A4 now and I watch out for sales and buy stock then. I do like the AC albums though I have to admit, but I think Arrowfile now have 12x12 ringbound albums? My photo albums are ringbound, and I havent bothered to fancy them up as they are really just storage for my pics until I scrap some of them.

So I guess that means that I am paranoid about using acid free

to be honest, i prefer 12 x 12 because it's a different size to normal A4 size - it makes scrapping a bit more special for me. it also separates it from normal life - i see enough a4 bits of paper at work it's nice to have a change.

and i think of a scrapbook album as just one of those costs that comes as part of it - and when i do the hard cold calculations of how much i've spent on what goes in an album, it doesn't seem quite that bad!

Emma Trout who is on the Websters DT scraps in A4. I was lucky to see her albums IRL last year at Scrap-a-mia and they were fab.

Oh my... Emma's work its just so so gorgeous. I do dabble in A4 layouts quite often. Seem to be quite drawn to the size and I really enjoy them.

I'm glad I spotted this thread, I've just started scrapping in 8.5 x 11 and love it; I bought an kraft A4 binder from Paperchase just before Christmas with the intentions of using it as a scrapping album - I never even thought about the Acid free pockets!

LOL....must be a thing about kraft I brought a A4 one in whsmith christmas before and started using that as an album. I altered the front and was really pleased with it considering it has cost just a couple of pounds.
