and Jayne - your daughter's traced self portrait is excellent!

I did something similarish in my journal last year, but with paints instead of pens – it was fun

Will look for the blog post and link it ….

so, I lied about my last post

I tend to do mainly DLOs in my journals, but my books aren't very big. I have done some singles in there too, so there's no harm in mixing and matching in the same book....

hope your day improves and you have a fab weekend

I am loving everyone's posts! I am home alone all day so it's lovely to have some chat going on here and see what people are up to.

My quick twopence worth on a couple of things...

I loved this post. I can remember also trying to figure out exactly what the concept was, until I realised there isn't one single concept.
As Flo says, it's whatever you want it to be. Some people like to write a lot and just add pictures round the edge, other people basically make pictures and add a few words (or not). You can make any kind of pages you like - there truly is no wrong or right (for style or technique).

I'm with Flo on the GESSO thing too - I don't bother with it on watercolour paper (or anything else, actually).

I've been busy too - made 2 covers for different sized pages. I work on loose pages, so they are just folders - no binding.

I decided to go for super-bright colours! They're a bit rough and ready as they are just folders. (I will make covers for the books when I bind them).

I have just uploaded my attempt for this week to the gallery if anyone is interested. I am feeling quite insecure about this at the minute, not knowing if I am going at things the right way, but I am going to carry on and see where I end up. It should be a fun journey anyway!

I am loving everyones pages so far, there are some really beautiful pages.

Thank you I've been on a team build with work colleagues today, it focussed on certain types of characters belonging to certain colour groups i.e blue, green and red or a blend of two and I've decided to use my newly discovered knowledge about myself to start my journal with.....just gotta actually do it now lol!

Hi everyone I still can't hear but I've been feeling much better today, so I have managed to finish my binder. There are some more pictures on my blog - just please excuse the moaning but I really haven't had a good week

I was so desperate to use that packing tape, but then I thought what do I do now??!! So I used all the itty-bits of paper left from other projects. I have put words on the front that I think will be involved in the project, but then on the back there are a couple of messages to myself (mostly to remember that its not all about sticking paper on paper!) And I've put envelopes inside so that I can keep anything to do with the project together

I'm really happy with how its turned out - considering I didn't like it at all this morning I'm going to try and do my first page tonight
