I bought a roller thing for a pound from the local haberdasher's.It has little points on it so marks the paper enough to push a needle through easily. It doesn't have all the fancy heads but it suits me.It must have a name but I don't know what it is!
Mum was saying about one of those when I was telling her about the WRMK one. But we didn't know if you could still get them.

Not being one of life's sewers I was looking forward to this but it's rubbish, well for me anyway, if I manage to get up enough pressure to pierce holes then I get pressure marks on either side from the roller edge, so disappointed

I'd recommend your local haberdasher. We have a great one in our market hall.Next time I'm down I'll see if he's got any more-and ask him what they're called!
It is interesting to see the feedback on this tool. It has been so popular that it was hard to even get it into stock! I for one detest stitching of any sort, so this wouldn't be a tool for me! LOL!

It's called a transfer wheel. I have one of these too, and I find it's particularly good for 'faux stitching'. The points are definitely sharper than on the WRMK heads!
I think that some of the negative views are due to the fact that from the publicity from WRMK you would expected it to cut through the cardstock easily... but it doesn't.
To get it to piece the card you need to really press down, but for me I use it as a device to mark out where holes should be for stitching and then use my pokey tool to make decent holes in the paper to put the need through... I had a few templates and they never did it for me, but this has been the relase into the world of stitching! Its not as good as piecing the holes as I hoped but I still love mine!

Thanks Eileen. It was driving me mad not remembering the name!
Mine's not quite as posh as the one in the photo but it works!
Some lovely ideas for inspiration here ladies - thanks very much! I'm inspired to get mine out and have a bash now, after all I've had it for 2-3 months now...
