    Water colour pencils

    Hi i was thinking of having ago at colouring in some stamps with water colour pencils since i cannot afford to buy the promarkers Does anybody know if i have to use the special water colour paper for them? and if so what is it i should be buying? Many thanks Helen

    You'll find you'll get different looks with different paper. The special watercolour paper gives it a real 'painting' look, but I use them on smooth white card as well and it looks lovely. Remember to use Stazon or similar when stamping your image. It's very addictive! And very easy to get the hang of.

    I have some momento ink will that be ok do you think?

    Yes momento ink is great - any permanent ink will do. Experiment on scraps of card maybe, don't get them too wet. Put the colour where you want it to be darkest and drag the colour out from there. I love my aqua pens, but of course normal brushes are good too!

    Helen - I bought about 50+ promarkers and decided I didn't like them, (my 10 yr old inherited them all ) I much prefer my water colour pencils so try a couple of pro markers before deciding to go for them ...it's an expensive mistake I normally use any smooth white card that I have to hand, I use StazOn inks and have never had any problems.
