    Large card

I need to make a large card for a colleague who is retiring. We all want to sign the card so it needs to be pretty big. Any idea how big I could make a card that would still stand up? I have A4 envelopes but not convinced a card of this size would be self-supporting.

I made one some always add a second card of the same size and weight card inside as an insert, which seems to help stiffen it up.

you could always use attach a second card so that it opens up like a 'w', maybe that would stabilise it and also give you more room for siggies?

I personally went to HobbyCraft and bought a pack of five A4 cards with envelopes and they were perfect. They were also used as a leaving card and another as a new baby card for the whole office to sign.

I seem to remember buying a heavy weight A3 card and folding it in half giving me A4. It was for a big Father's Day card and was really stable. I bought it from an Art and Crafts shop.

I'd use a sheet of A3 folded too. You just need to get a good quality card, the kind you'd use for a regular card and it will stand up.
I've got some kingfisher blue alchemy pearl A3 card but no other colours in A3.

Just had another thought, what about using a regular size card and add an insert sheet in the middle but instead of having one sheet, have three or four so it's like a mini book inside the card?
