I'd agree with that, plus too messy

I was going to say craft obsessions as well.

O.M.G... that sounds like the perfect place to be journaling.

It's Sunday, and we've just gone nearly 12 hours without a post on this thread. What's going on?! Where are y'all?? Surely someone's been busy making lovely pages which they are now ready to show us?!

I had a little faff about with collage bits and a quick fiddle with a few photos in PSE, but that's it I'm afraid. Illness is making me so tired, and my limited energy gets used up just doing the washing up or going to the supermarket.

Hopefully I'll be able to actually sit down and focus a bit tomorrow or Tuesday. I've got lots of images/bits/scraps I want to use and loads of backgrounds, so I'm planning to spread it all out, put some inspiring music on, and try working fast/spontaneously/fearlessly (not my natural way) to make a number of pages quickly.

    What's everyone else up to?

    There's a sunburst stencil here:
    http://www.thatscraftyonline.com/aca...Templates.html

You have to scroll a long way down the page. Tis is 6x6 - there may be a 12x12 one as well

It's not normal is, that long without a post.

I went to the GNPE today and did the breakfast class with Dyan and had a chat with her later to have a look at the new mica sprays...ooooh ladies - LUSH just isn't enough to described them. They have the first set of sprays now all with it...I picked up two. They are sooo much nicer than the tattered angels (is that right?) ones. She's also got new acyrilc paints designed for journaling. Like claudines but with a matte finish - they are not as chalky as normal acrylic. Really nice.

Did a page earlier ready to journal. No photo's of it yet though. I'm planning to do my swap pages this week and a tutorial on how I do my pages. That's it from me at the moment.

KWYM Vicki. I was up there on Saturday. Had a quick chat to Kate Crane about her wonderful backgrounds and sucumbed to some of Dyan's new paints, just a couple, well it would be rude not too I have some of her 'ordinary' sprays and they are fantastic, love the colours and I am off to Dyan's on Wednesday for the second part of the art journalling class, so if there's anything left post show ....... I might just .........
Would love to see your tutorial
Claudia any chance of you doing one?

I have most of Dyan's Altered Originals spray paints. I have real problems with the 2nd batch of colours she released in terms of large splodges rather than fine spray. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Separately, I tried spraying all the colours on a sheet of paper to see what colours they were and then brushed them and they were lush. On hols at the moment so can't take a photo to show you.

I've put up a stage by stage tutorial on my blog describing how I made a recent page. Hope it helps somebody? Like you Claudia I'm not 100% at the moment, so taking life quite gently, but still journalling of course!

I'm always threatening to buy some of Dyan's spray inks but have got some Adirondack ones I ought to use up, but never seem to get out. I find them a bit too strong a colour really, any suggestions? I did try putting some in a spray bottle and diluting them, but don't think I got the proportions right.

Debbie, let me know how you get on with them. I can't wait to see what you do with them on fabric.

Julie, oh I would love to know how you made the journal. Not only does it look amazing it looks like it can take a real old battering I hope you had fun at crop.

Vicki, I love how your LSNED pages are coming along on your blog. I must try and use a tag on my journal pages, your pages look so effective. Oh and see you are becoming a journal junkie, don't buy too many though and never get around to filling them up

Claudia, I don't think your page is idiotic! I really love the mixture of black and pick, I also like the darker pink splatters(?) in the background. I am glad you seem to have overcome your AJ block. So sorry you feel unwell to craft hopefully you will be up to it soon

Rosie, What a fab idea ref the magazine titles, I have never thought of that either. I tend to cut mine out for letters though so I hope there are some really good one still intact. Out of your list I love 'Feed your passion' I may have to nick that I saw your instructons on your blog they are really good. Could I ask though how you journal, I mean the font etc. Did you learn it or pick it up from a book? Belated happy birthday too

Bevsie, I saw the suzi-bu class before I found Leslie but I think SB is more into faces/folk art/people I really wanted to learn the basics first. I am really surprised at my motivation really as usually when I have signed up to scrapping classes etc after a week I forget about them or rush to complete them before the next class. This one I am enjoying and actually putting pencil to paper ever day, even if it turns out rubbish thanks fr teh complements on my quilling, its one of those secret crafts that because it isn't reconised as much I just do quietly a few times a month. I will get them on my pages somehow I hope you had fun over the weekend playing with your stencils, you must pst some finished pages for us all to admire.

Meggie, amazing place to me journaling, enjoy your wime out there

Regarding those sprays I would love them but unfortunately just now they are out of my price range (I will have no job in a few weeks time) so I am thinking about maybe trying to make an acyrlic wash and put that in a spray. I don't know if it will work or the spray will clog up but I thought it is worth a try. I shall report back

I haven't journaled in a long time I must do some this week. I have however made a journal for my class and been drawing most days. I really like some of the work I have produced, others not so but I will get there. I shall share a snippet tonight on my blog

    Have a great day all

I had one that seemed to do that, and one that I just couldn't get going. I just took the spray apart and played with it in a bowl of water for a while, that seemed to help. Bearing in mind though that she's designed them to be splodgy sprays.

I tried three times yesterday to leave you a comment on your tutorial but blogger wasn't having any of it. Thought it was great!

Dyans sprays are really strong colours as well. I don't have any of the adirondack ones to compare though. I've avoided them as they are such big bottle and I thought I'd never use them. Think you're just going to have to play with the proportions, or you could use them with a brush with some water.

Tell me about it. DH got me one as well, he knew I loved it but didn't know I'd picked one up! So I now have an A4 and two moleskine cashiers on the go, with one in reserve and the two A4 Jack books. I have a love of notebooks anyway so I'm as happy as a pig in muck about it!

Hello everybody. Glad to see thread has livened up a bit! I love it when there is lots going on.

Rosie - That beach hut is the loveliest and most original crafty thing I have seen for a long time! I absolutely *love* it. But I'm sorry you are going through a low patch with your illness too at the moment. I'm hoping to get some art happening this afternoon, but I'll have to see how I go. I'm running a temperature yet again, so I'm probably not on great form!

Juliwan - just about to PM you.

Look forward to seeing everyone's pages which are currently in progress.

Edited to Add: Natasha and Juliwan - This is the other half of that tattoo page background. Just some scribbles and spatters on a yellow wash (liquid W/Colours). It looks way too busy on it's own but once the other elements add focal points on top it fades into the background.
