Keep in mind with the old saying "buy cheap and you will buy twice". I've been through many different kinds of paper storage items before I finally found the one that really works and holds up...and with that through a lot of money too (grrr). Go on-line and check out how others have stored their scrapbooking tools, paper and things. One of my recommendations is to look for an old armoire and refit it with storage bins. This is a much better alternative than buying those over priced marketed for scrapbookers storage/work centers that are made from nothing more than mdf. Martha Stewart and Better Homes and Gardens are 2 of the places that you can check out to see what they've done with an armoire and turning it into a crafting storage/work area. They are easy to refit, much less expensive and sometimes they might need just a new coat of paint and some new knobs...and all at a fraction of the price of one of those costly plain white mdf work centers.

    Hi
I have RUB's the small 16 section one, with flowers, brads and buttons. can see at a glance what is in each box.
Plastic takeaway boxes for beads, buckles, gems. they stack well and are easily labled.
Also have those flat pack type CD/DVD boxes that just press stud together. they are great for anything thats to big to go in the RUB's
As for ribbons, I wind them into a coil and secure them with a papercliip. store those in bigger RUB.
My DH made me a U shaped desk, I have 4 of those plastic drawer packs on castors, and plenty of shelves for storing paper and RUB's.
would take a photo but the desk is a mess with on going projects. If I get round to having a tidy up then who knows.

Hope this gives you some inspiration.

I would really like one of those stands for my papers, IUKWIM. like in the shops.
but they are exspensive and I would rather put the money towards my stash.

    Hi

I used Ikea cupboards with a range of shelves and drawers, you can see some pics at the top of my blog at:

Whatever you choose, make sure you have good lighting - I am by the window, but use a 'natural daylight' bulb at night. Have fun sorting out your new craft room. How exciting!

This is my favourite source of storage ideas:-

    http://craftystorage.blogspot.com/

I guarantee you will waste HOURS on there ...

I'm also a fan of the Expedit bookcase - and I'm going to get some of those slot in drawers for mine too. I also use Really Useful Boxes in all kinds of size. My top tip would be to have things you use often close to hand so you aren't always jumping up for stuff.

Would agree with looking at Ikea. If you get a "family card" then you get extra offers periodically. The rails and baskets are great cheap storage solution. I use mine for paints, stickels, pen pot and the hook punches over.

If you have a staples nearby as well, I took up a reward card and when they sent it to me they sent a £10 off voucher if you spend £40 I think it was. I had wheeled clear drawers and RUB boxes from there.
