Thanks Lucille - I now have .46 installed and working .47 sitting on my desktop waiting to be unzipped for when I have time to play with it. No doubt you will be hearing from me again soon !!
Thanks

I was having problems with welding words to. I would do object to path and than do union which is how I've always done it and it wouldn't work. I have to do object to path and then go hit ungroup and than do union and it will work. Don't know why but that's how I got it to weld for me.

When you work with text in .47 if you do the Object to Path then Path Union it won't weld.
However if you do Object to Path and then Path Union in .46 it will weld, perhaps that is your problem Sue.
Can I also add that unless you are doing Text on a Path you don't need to do Object to Path in either version of Inkscape, just overlap the letter and then weld.

Thanks Lucille
I just tried doing the Path Union without the object to path and it worked wonderfully. My letters are welded together. Thanks again Lucille.

As you will know Lucille I didn't get my Robo for Christmas but I am finally getting it together with Inkscape thanks to the tutorials.
