Help! with the July challenge part 2.
Got as far as trying to put sm circle in lg circle, but when I hold down shift and click on both only 1 will select. What am I doing wrong. Have been stuck here for three days now and if my hair wasn't white to begin with it would be now.

Can I ask which tutorial you are following, is it DM or Inkscape?

With either program holding down the Shift key and clicking on each of the circles' outlines should work. Alternatively, drag the left mouse button to marquis-select both objects.

Just a thought, don't suppose you are holding down the Ctrl key instead of the Shift key are you? HTH

    2magpies,
Thanks for trying to set me straight but no matter what I do I can still only get 1 circle selected at a time when I click on 1 circle the other one deselects.
    Fuschia,
Ditto.I have got one circle in side the other more by good luck than managment, but when I delete the small circle I don't get a hole.
    ps i'm using dm
    Sheila.

You need to drag the curser over them, this should select them both, then click weld, now when you take the small circle away you should be left with a white circle. Make sure your two circles are different colours. HTH x
