    Arrow How to share projects

You'll see that the forum has undergone a bit of a face lift and we now have some subforums specifically for sharing your projects.

    Here's a guide to what's in them:
    Birthdays: Milestones, Kids, Girly, Manly
Friendship: Thank you, Thinking of You, Hello/Hi/Just a note, Sympathy, Get Well
Occasions: New Home, Congratulations, Good Luck
Great Expectations: Pregnancy, Babies, Christenings, Adoption
    Love: Engagement, Weddings, Anniversaries
Holidays: Christmas, Easter/Spring, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Halloween, Valentine's Day
Invitations and announcements: Wedding invites, Birth announcements, We've Moved
    Miscellaneous: Anything goes
Stash central: Sugar Nellies, Magnolias, and other lines
Tips and Techniques: Contains guides and Q&A threads

If your project fits into one or more of these categories, then post it in the corresponding thread(s).

The best way to share your creations is to insert a link to the image using the [*img] and [*/img] tags (minus the *).

So wherever you've uploaded your image whether to your blog, your UKS gallery space or another hosting site like flickr, you can point to that image using the img tags. (But make sure you're not pointing to a really small thumbnail image when you do this ).

One of the easiest ways to find the link for an image in Internet Explorer is to:
    1. Depending on how your image is hosted you may be able to right-click on it and simply select "Copy Shortcut" to get the fill url link for it (if so skip to step 6). Alternatively right-click on your image and select "Properties".
    2. The Properties dialog box will open.
    3. Next to "Address:" there will be the url link for the image, probably ending in ".jpg".
    4. Make sure you select the entire url by left-clicking and dragging with the mouse.
    5. Select copy either with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C or by right-clicking on the highlighted link and selecting "Copy".
    6. In your original post, click on the little icon that looks like a mountain with a sun behind it to insert the image tags in your post.
    7. This will bring up a dialog box where you can paste your link in, but make sure you delete/overwrite the "http://" text in the field so that your link will work.
    8. To paste the link in, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V or right-click and select "Paste".

** If you find that the img tag method doesn't work for your image (the path name may be too long or contain problematic characters), then simply attach your image to the thread using the attachment option (paper clip button). This will mean your images will still appear directly in the thread and not as a link. **

When posting your creations it's great if you can also share the supplies you've used, as it can be really helpful to other users.

Also when it comes to image size, please make sure that the largest dimension of the image you're sharing doesn't exceed 600 pixels.

If your image size is too big to attach/upload to the gallery, there is a free tool called PIXresizer you can use to resize it on your machine.
Save your photo -> open PIXresizer -> open the photo -> save to whatever size you want (600 pixel max dimension) -> Save (remember where, preferably where the original one was) and then upload here. It will be saved as whatever the original photo was called with the pixel size in brackets.
