Promarkers help!

I got some Letraset promarkers and I am not having much success with them.First of all my Stazon was smudging.I read somewhere that Versafine was better so I bought that.It still smudged so I left it to dry for ages and it still smudged.I cant even get the blooming lids of them properly,the whole nib ends up coming of!I am really frustrated with them and can see them getting thrown in my 'things I should never have bought' box.Can anyone offer me advice on using them.Thanks.

I dont have these but have the copic markers, I found they smudged the ink until I bought Brilliance Archival Pigment ink pad, this works fine with them, think they are similar to the promarkers.
