    Ribbon rings

Hi all, I am thinking of purchasing a few of these rings to hold my ribbons. Do any of you have these? If so can I ask a few questions?
    1) Where do you 'hang' them?
    2) Do you use your ribbons more since they are on show?
    3) How many plastic 'cards' can fit on one 2" ring?
    4) Mine are stored in jars at the moment, once they are hung will the creases fall out of them?
    5) Do you find this method better than in jars, on cards, in boxes etc?

    Thanks in advance

I hang my ribbons on bookrings but then I usually only buy a meter or two at a time. I thread them on the rings I dont put the cards on them. Before I got the rings I used to keep them all in a tub and I think I do use them more this way.

I just love mine! I do use my ribbon more since I have them, there are no creases in them, on one 2" ring the most I have is 30 but guessing you can fit more on. I also put more than one ribbon on each card if they are narrow ones and will fit. I used to keep them in clear acetate type boxes and got fed up of pulling them all out to get one piece of ribbon. I have three rings now and they hang off one the of the over the door type hangers that do not require the door to be drilled from Argos here

And before I forget there is an offer on them at Rebecca's here too

Thanks for your replys I have them in jars at the moment and they were fine when I only had a handfull but... I seem to have some kind of ribbon obsession and now I can hardly get one ribbon out without having to empty the whole jar. I am going to see if I get anymore posts before I definatly decide to order them. Emily thanks for the link to rebeccas site, thats who I am planning to get them from, and a few more ribbons of course

I bought a quickutz die of an embroydery thread card - cut loads and loads out and stapled the end of my ribbon to each one, then threaded the cards onto bookrings. I really do use my ribbon loads more now.

Thats a good idea - and cheaper too!!!

I have got the ribbon rings and love them!

Yes, I have lots of ribbons... I have 3 cuphooks in the ceiling and have 2 hooks on the wall (they were tie back ones I found lurking in a cupboard) and have 2 rings on each of the tieback hooks.

I find that I have used the ribbons more - although not as much as I should - and it reminds you to use them as you see them hanging there - and not all crumpled and creased anymore.

Much easier to getwhat you want - you can just snip the length off, or take the card off the ring. Depends on the width of the ribbon, but I have a couple of lengths on each card. Think I have got about 150 cards but dont tell DH thats how many I have!!!

    I think I have 6 rings - but am using 2" bookrings that I have - and have them into colours - red, yellow/green, blue, pink/purple, black/white, natural/cream/brown.

Great idea and I would recommend them.............. also easy to take with you if you go to a crop as you just take the ring with you and then hang up again - I tend to stuff mine into a bag and then hang them up again when I get back.

The feedback I've had from the ribbon rings is all good.....people are using ribbons more due to them being 'on show' plus the creases aren't an issue. Plus they've got the added advantage that you can snip a bit of should you want to use it without undoing the whole thing.

Quite often you can fit 2 per card and the wider ones available are great for the bigger ones. I've got a shop sample one with 30 cards, about 40 ribbons on and it could take more. Though at only 25p for the 2" rings I sort by colour.

Well I 'think' I may have to take the plunge. One last question though, if i take my ribbons out of my jar (all creased) and hang them on the ring will he crases fall out of them or will I have to do something to the ribbons?

They should fall out. However I'm unsure 'how quickly' they'll do that.
