I've been blog hopping tonight and was thrilled to see so many Dottie and George cards appearing. I noticed a few people on here have started using them too so I thought it would be a good idea to start a Dottie and George thread so that I can see all your creations in one place.
Bring em on girls!
I am very tempted to get some of these, but I have no idea whether I should be getting the white or the transparent, I know on the site it says what the difference is but I still don't actually get what the difference is LOL
Also what can I colour them with? will watercolour pencils work, or prisma with sansador? I am thinking the outline won't be waterproof?
sorry so many questions, they are very cute images.
Hi Darcy,
Whichever type you get, they will print out onto plain or patterned papers. The idea with the transparent ones is that you can also play about with them on your computer - adding backgrounds and other effects before printing out.
As for colouring in, some people have trouble with the ink 'bleeding' when colouring printed images whereas others don't. Personally I have found that if you use good quality paper and give your ink plenty of time to dry before colouring it's fine to use brush markers or paint. As for Prisma colours and Sansador, I sure hope so because I've just bought some especially to use with George and Dottie and as you'll know, THEY AIN'T CHEEP!. I can't wait for them to arrive.
I hope this helps.
P.S If you do have any trouble with the ink bleeding there is a fixative you can buy and hairspray is supposed to work to.
Thankyou Lou, I am not a very girly girl, and don't do cute often, but these caught my eye and I think i shall be getting some.If it all goes horribly wrong I shall be shouting for help LOL

he he, nor am I, I tried to make Dottie more quirky than cute, I hope it worked. I think she's quite cute but she definately has a mischevous edge to her, especially when she has her hands on her hips in defiance
Some people think I based her on myself, what do you think?
OMG, I am in awe, I had no idea it was you who designed the fabulous Dottie & George its great to be able to put a face to the designer! I just hope I do your creations justice. I only have Dottie at Home and Sporting George at the mo but I definately intend to increase my collection.

Jac I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed this. What a brilliant idea to use her in the backing paper!
Well, Dottie at work is now finished and sent off so we just need to wait for Karen to put them on site.
Forgive me for being simple but I don't see the point in having transparent images... Printers don't have white ink anyway so the white bits would always end up "transparent" when you print them. Is there any other reason for this?
