Hi! Lovely cards ladies. You make them so fast ... I am popping in to say that Magnolia will start shipping the Spring Club Kits April 14th. Hooray!! They'll charge our cards when they ship out. Can't wait to see them. Anyway, that's it.. Back to your regular program...

Oh yes - always take the ink to the stamp - I can hear Dawn Bibby's words ringing (piercingly) into my ears now!!

Although - that said - if I am doing individual letter stamps etc I do dab them into the ink pad. But definitely ink to pad for intricate stamps

It's worth investing in a Versafine black inpad too because the ink dries fast and doesn't run when you're watercolouring and the ink is sticky so it doesn't smudge when you press it down.
I've used loads of different black inkpads and it defo makes a difference.

    Lovely card Nikki!

I was just showing DD1 (who also loves it) and said how much I liked the grass, flower and ladybird stamps you had used. "I'll have to have a look for some of those" I said.

She turned round, picked up her own crafting box and said "here they are" - now that's what I call a daughter!!

Thank LadyJayne, It's amazing how quickly we can build up stash. I only started stamping last month and all my goodies are taking over my house!

Nicky - Both your cards are beautiful and I loved the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I had the stamp on the table and was bringing the ink pad down IYKWIM.... I have since held up the ink pad and the stamp and stamped it in mid air IYKWIM...... and thats was better but not perfect

Versafine..... I was using a Stazon.... is that the same?

I have a collection of different types of ink pads.....

    Impress (Raised Dye Inkpad)

    Archival Pigment Ink Pad Brillance

    Encore Ultimate

    and

    Dew drops...

    and of course Stazon...

are Versafine different? Not heard of those

Did lots of stamping and water-colouring of Tildas last night at the crop, jsut need to make them into cards now.... have also found it hard colouring the faces, everywhere else seems fine but when I come to watercolour the faces it seems to make the feace features look dull.... how does anyone overcome this one...??

I'm not a fan of solvent based stuff so I don't bother with Stazon. Versafine is an oil based ink so it's easier to clean and there aren't any nasties in there. I've got most of the other inkpads you've got too, not the Encore Ultimate though but Versafine works the best for detailed stamping. I can do a side by side piccy for you if it helps

With colouring the faces try just colouring in the cheeks and then take the colour with your water/paintbrush from the cheeks to the other areas on your face.
