    Bind It All Project Swap

    Details
    {by Smelly}
This swap is for anyone who is a fan of the Bind It all Machine, which is very popular at the moment and who would like to get a BIA project back for ideas and inspiration.

Each swapee should make a project of their choice, be it a mini book, maze book, notepad, journal, calendar etc, its up to you, use your imagination.

Each swapee should spend no more than 7.50 worth on stash and the project should roughly be no more than 8 x 6 inches in size. The project should be completed but left blank for customizing by the receiver.

Please place your completed project in a plastic bag and label each bag with your UKS name and your real name and then send them to me. I'll do the rest.

Please include a label with your name and address and postage - 2.50 should cover it (around the cost of an average CJ but if less then postage will be returned)

I will initially do 2 groups of 10, if there's enough demand but may increase if it becomes popular.

Organisers Name (UKS name and real name):
    Smelly - Sarah Carrington

    Signup Deadline:
    4th February 2008

    Dates for Swap:
Send by 25th February 2008 in order for posting on or before 3rd March 2008.

PLEASE REMEMBER BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS SWAP THAT YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO BE IN 3 SWAPS AT A TIME!!

I keep thinking about ordering from the states - especially when I saw the price of the stamps I wanted. Whats the postage like?

Oh poop Gill, whats the matter? I don't think the idea of the swap is to make people feel like exploding under pressure, honest. Its supposed to be fun and I can't see anyone in our little group of BIA addicts being anything but chuffed that someone has sat and made them something. I've never been given anything hand made with care and kind thoughts that I haven't treasured and kept.

When I told DH on the phone the other night that nobody wanted to swap with me he was shocked. When I told him it was because everyone didn't want me looking at their project because they thought I might think it was inferior his words were "but your not like that, or you wouldn't give up your evenings to go and show a bunch of 80 year olds how to make a handbag album".

Forget the pressure, just enjoy the challenge of mastering that little blue guy - he is very friendly when you get to know him.

    Aw Annette,
Your DH is so supportive. I'll gladly swap with you. I do have the image of an 80 year old wacking a mugger with a hefty handbag album though now - ouch

it was a pretty weird evening, let me tell you! Like something out of the twilight zone.... some very ancient Womens Institute ladies that thought they should be 'keeping up with trends' and asked me along to do a talk on scrapbooking. Fine, I can talk. Then they decided they really wanted a 'hands on approach' to the subject so could I put something together that they could make? I turned up on the designated evening in the local hall and there were 7 of them.... they apologised for the fact that the older ladies hadn't turned out because it was 'inclement weather' (older than these guys? ).... we had such a fun time, those old biddies were telling risque jokes and having a great time getting tangled in DST !!

Just nose poking on here to see what you've all made so far, and thought I'd reply to this.
I've ordered Bella stamps from the states 3 times and not been caught on VAT yet, touch wood. Can't remember the exact postage but very reasonable.

thanks for the encouragement Annette - I have just been playing with some old paper/card and think that it is just not meant to be lol - the wire looks like it has been used to strangle someone and some of the holes are so near to the edge that as soon as i turn the page they fall off ....i will keep trying!

I am not in the BIA swap, believe it or not, even though I keep chatting on it

However I can echo what Anette's DH says about her, Annette is so friendly and helpful and would never ever judge someone's work. She always takes an interest in what others make at a crop.
