Embossing with Nestabilities and Ejection Foam question?

Hi - Can anyone tell me how to emboss with the nestabilities using a Cuttlebug? I was at a card club on Saturday and we tried using two B plates, three layers of cardstock and the tan embossing mat (we were following some internet instructions) and ended up breaking two B plates, one of them shattered into 5 jagged pieces . its made us a bit scarred to try again.

Also it there a trick to stop the dies digging into the plates as it can be very difficult to dig them out. I tend to end up prizing them out with tweezers.

I was thinking of abandoning the embossing posibilities and trying to cover the dies with QK ejection foam, has anyone tried this?

    Thanks

I've seen the video online for using them in the Cuttlebug.I don't have the tan mat and didn't really want to buy one.
So what I tried was A plate, layer of thin chipboard,B plate, then on top a black rubber mat I got from my local craft shop.I think it was for a Sizzix originally and then the other B plate and it works fine for me.

Thanks Cass I don't want to buy another mat, but I will have another go, trying the chipboard, rather than 3 layers of card. Other than that your sandwich is exactly what we tried.

A bit nervous actually as I don't want to break a third B plate
