Shading & Watercolouring???

How do you all get your shading & water colouring so nice I have tried but I'm just not happy with the results

Using the Aquaflow Brushes as my cats are monsters for knocking the pots of water over

Any advice gratefully recieved

I use my pencils to shade the inside edges of the image then using the water brush, drag the colour across so that it gets lighter as you go.

I will then often a darker shade to pick up any shadows.

Do you go quite dark on the inside edges to still have enough colour after you've dragged it out a bit... IYSWIM

Yes you need enough colour so there is some left!! It depends how dark you want the colour to look.
