What stamps do you use alot?

I've been scrapbooking for the last few years and want to get back into my cardmaking, which I originally did before scrapping. I'd love to build my rubber stamp collection up and was wondering what stamps do you have that you'd recommend - you know sort of generic stamps that can be used on a few different projects.

I'm also thinking of starting to make cards to sell in my shop (sandwich bar) to try and help pay for my stash, so I'd probably be using the stamps for this as well as my own personal projects.

I have quite a few of the new autumn leaves acrylic sets (flowers and flourish ones), have just bought a few Nellies and Tildas and a couple of Penny Blacks. Otherwise it's just my old naff stamps I thought I'd use all the time when I first started 3/4 years ago and haven't touched since.

I tend to use Penny Blacks, Woodware and Hero Arts. I have started using a lot of the Pink Petticoat images as well and these are fab!

Whatever stamps people recomend bear in mind that you just wont use them forever, trends change in rubber stamps like everywhere else so you ll always want to buy the latest stamp. However over the 11 years that i ve been cardmaking, the only ones that I m still using are my background stamps, don t get me worng I could still use the other 100s that I have laying about but I choose not to because they don t fit in with the current trend or my taste and style have changed.

I'm a sucker for a cute Penny Black stamp (got a few ). Also love Whipper Snapper, Magnolia (Tilda), Nellies and some Hero Art.

I love clear stamps for wording.

Favourites are stamp oasis, stampscapes and simple expressions. I also like hero arts, any text nice stamps and have just got a couple of magnolias which I think I will be leaning more towards. I've got penny black but I'm bored with them now.

Magnolia, Sugar Nellie, MFT, Bella, Whipper Snapper, Penny Black and the Papertrey borders and greetings are my current faves but as Monica says the trends change.

I think Monica is so right about changing trends. I've been stamping for 20 years and my first stamp was a hideous (in my view) PSX floral (iris) stamp! How things change. PSX no longer exist - they were taken over by another company and then abandoned several years ago!

I like the more modern stamps around at the moment (including most of those previously mentioned) and particularly any which are really versatile so I can get as much use from them as possible - but there are so many new releases numerous times per year that it's VERY difficult for us addicts...
