    Prisma Pencil problem

Can anyone help, I got my pencils throught this morning and had my first trial using Zest it pencil blend but the didn't blend as much as what I've seen in a few tutorials on here does it make a difference with blending on the paper/card used or have people found using a solvent based blender better?
Sorry about all the question but hubby has just paid £42 for the pencils for my Chrimbo and he wants to see results

I find that too. I use stumps but find it isn't blending smoothly, will be interested to see what anyone says! I use gamsol which is odourless mineral spirit but might try zest it or sansodor to see if it makes any difference.

I much prefer sansodor to zest it for blending. It just seems to make it easier. Smooth paper or card also helps of course (thanks to kittypuss for her help on that!). The brand of blending stump also seems to make a difference - I've found the Derwent ones the best. Good luck and just keep practising.

I tried Zest it and didn't like it at all, the orangey smell was gross and it didn't blend the colour half as well as Sansodor does. I think the stumps make a difference too, I picked up a cheap set of 3 for 99p and they didn't blend the colour very well. I tried the Derwent stumps and was in love, they blend (with the Sansodor) like a dream.

I got mine from a local art supply store where I also got the sansodor. I've not tried to get the derwent ones on line.

I have been using the papermill linen card on the reverse side , with zest it pencil blend . This works great for me.
I tried many different types of card and found that some did not work very well for blending . So i think the card you use is very important .
I used sansador and could not get it to work well. .
Maybe its just a case of experimenting with different card stock .
I have also found that different colour prisma pencils blend better than others . Just my experience
