Here's my simple sample. I cut the three layers using red for the base, pink for the middle layer and cut a rose bouquet design, I cut the top layer from vellum. I was going to edge the layers with peeloffs but they wouldn't fit smoothly so I used a quickie glue pen and glamour dust.

Hi - Here is my effort Hope its ok as its pretty basic but will try to do more and I get a bit more confident - basic c6 card with star apeture with star within - with the template I have added a star and frame star for anyone who might like to use it in another way
what do you think - Just cut it out in cheap card with white paper insert to show it does cut well
Hope this 'slotted star card' qualifies for the challenge, but I wasn't too sure of the exact requirements.
I found that by cutting two of these cards at the same time from different coloured card I could swap the centres over for contrast. I would have used double sided card and then flipped the centre before slotting it in - but I couldn't remember where I'd put mine - somewhere safe I expect!
I had the window open and heard the birds a twittering and this thought came to mind as I saw the black cat from the pub creeping across the garden on his rounds.
Now now no comments on my weird mind
xxxxxx

Circle of hearts are cut out and the toppers have been embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder. Insert is pink to show through the hearts.
Had to zip the gsd as it seemes to be too large
My swirl started out quite simple but I thought it looked too fragile so I welded some more swirls onto it and may have got a bit carried away. Hope it’ll still qualify for this month’s challenge.
Have attached a picture of my ‘swirl’ and the two cards made using it.
