    how ? ribbon question

I am designing wedding invite samples for my sister and she like the idea of having a stripof ribbon down the front of the card but she doesn't want it to show on the inside .

    any ideas ?

If you are having inserts in the card then you can fix them so the overlapped ribbon doesn't show. I would put a strip of double sided tape on the left side of the insert near the spine of the card, so when you open the card up the insert lies flat and covers the ribbon.

Does that make any sense? I fear I am suffering from complete incomprehensibility this afternoon LOL!

Double sided tape on the back of the ribbon (but obviously only works if the ribbon isn't sheer LOL).

Susan - that's great for ribbon that doesn't fray at the edges, for sure!
I was thinking of nthe stuff that frays, hencwe the need to cut it longer than card and overlap it.

What did we do before double sided tape was invented?

I'd have a layer of card on the outside and wrap the ribbon round that, then the edges are fixed underneath and don't show.

See you don't have to bother now! But for anyone who wants to know, I always put a bit of clear glue (liquid glue) at the edges to stop the ribbon fraying - once it dries you can't see it. HTH someone!

I would always use my xyron to stick down ribbons. i make several in advance and run them through together to avoid wasting my precious sticky stuff. I store them in the drawer until inspiration strikes. Its great because no matter how sheer the ribbon it won't show. Seals the ends too!

If you use donble sided tape then it stops the ribbon from fraying. I do it all of the time and I have no trouble. You can use it with sheer ribbon too as long as you make sure that it is thinner than the ribbon.
