I find i'm always getting asked to make some sympathy cards which i've never done before. I get my stash out to start one but no inspiration comes so i end up putting it all back away. Does anyone have any ideas for sympathy cards? I'm always worried about making them 'cheesy' and not suitable for the occasion so to speak.
Thanks Eileen, i think my porblem is that i'm always worried about using colour on sympathy cards, but after looking at yours, a bit of colour is good. Will give it another go and see what i can come up with.

Personally I wouldn't worry about putting colour on them I woudl prefer it myself. I've only made one which I copied a section of a painting by an artist that the person I gave it to loved.
And I bought one from a well known shop and it was quite colourful really, but unfortunately it was to give my cousin's who had lost their 7 week old daughter. They told her before she past over that as she never had chance of a party they would make sure her send off was the best party she could have had. So they were glad of a bit of colour. Guess it depends on who the recipient is really.
When my daughter died (also aged 7 weeks) I just didn't think flowery cards and 'grown up' cards were right. Ok it was a very sad time but something to make me smile was more welcome, a few friends did send cards with cute animals on or bright colours, my favourite card was a pink one with a sad little hedgehog on the front and it just said thinking of you, but I thought it was great and still remember it 18 years on!
