    Hi girls, please help
I am really interested in this chip board......it isn't like the chip board that would be used by a carpenters and joiners is it.....where am I likely to get it and can it be cut adequately on the cricut.

My understanding is that nothing thicker than bazill can be cut on the cricut.

You need a sizzix machine and sizzix dies to cut on chipboard. Of course there is nothing stopping you from cutting image from paper/cardstock on cricut and then using that as a template and hand cutting the chipboard

Willowsmum when people say chipboard you are right they do not mean the stuff that carpenters use. It is the american name for mountboard. If you want to get some then picture framers is the place to go. Sometimes they sell off packs of off cuts for a £ or something which is well worth it.

    Hope that helps,
    Viv

I've just uploaded a couple of things in my gallery using Fabulous Finds and george and basic shapes. I love FF, I have been using it a few days now, and keep finding new things! I guess that's why it's called FF!

RE: mountboard - another way of getting a similar effect to chipboard is to cut your shape and then mount them on the page using sticky pads. It gives that bit more depth and dimension.

the cricut is not designed to cut chipboard/mountboard, it will break it!!!

another idea is to cut the character out several times and then stick the layers together - sounds like a good idea!

I use the back of note books etc for my mountboard, looks just as good and it's free - some is not quite thick enough, but I have a stack of thick sheets!!

I nearly bought FF when I "treated" myself to another two carts - having a bad week so needed a pick me up. Just trying to forget that I have still to use the machine and carts I already have! But I wondered - I have sizzix dies which do slide mounts and hinges etc so do I *need* to get FF too? I thought I may get all the other carts I need have nothing like first and then get it - but seeing all the great things you guys are saying about it and the LOs you are making do I need to move this cart up my list?

    TIA
