    whats the best paper cutter????

ive got a 12 x 12 paper cutter but it was only a cheap one to get me going.
What paper cutters do you all use? Thinking of up-grading but not too sure to what!!!!

I'm after the Making Memories 12x12 trimmer, it's £50 but supposed to last a lifetime
Although my £15 supermarket guillotine/trimmer is doing me quite well for now, which gives me chance to save up
ETA both cheap ones I've had so far have not lasted, hence wanting the MM one!

NOT the Provocraft one -- frustrates me every time I get it out

Love the Carl Craft (?) one, but mines needs sending back as a piece fell off after a couple of weeks

Currently on a £15 from Aldi one. Has guillotine (sp) and rotary on it, and the 2 sides pull apart for packing away. Only complaint would be you can't measure less than 3cm or more than 23 cm on guillotine, or less than 2cm or more than 21 cm on rotary -- but the rotary has the best grip while cutting of any I've used Was definitely a good 'impule' buy

I am happy with my Fiskars one - I've had it a year now and no problems.

That's the one I have Cheryl, I work mainly 8x8 which is 20cm so it's ideal for me
ETA otherwise I just mark with a pencil first

I have the ek success cutterpede too, and i really like it. but then I had the PC one before and it was pretty rubbish. i don't cut photos on mine though, as I have a guillotine style one for that.

you can get decorative blades on most rotary ones too, which can be nice if you like that sort of thing.

I wish I had one of each for a side by side comparison.

There are quite a few others, like the one by Purple Cow, the Tonic one, the really expensive one that you have to order and has it's own light (I must find the name!) and others.

What I think I need is a library post that lists all the cutters and people can go there and comment, like on the home page, and the comments will stay. It will be like an ongoing review! This same topic has come up a lot recently and I really want to know too!

I'll never change from my Fiskars. I have both the little one and the big one, the little one is used most but the big one is great when cutting alot, or if I had the space to have it out all the time.

Now I had my fiskars one but never really got on with it! I have a fabby cutterpede but it needs a new cutting mat (yep, turned it round each way you can) and it's on it's 2nd blade in 6 months) so today I recieved my MM rotary cutter. Not had time to use it yet though.

I have a provocraft one for crops and a guillotine from staples for use at home.

Not too happy with Provocraft though and problem with guillotine at home is that it measures in cm not inches (planning on sticking a paper tape measure (the kind that Ikea give away lol) to it to fix that problem) and you can't cut anything small because the safety guard thingy that stops you getting too close to the blade means you can't hold it still. And, there's no guide to show you EXACTLY where you're cutting.

I'm thinking about the MM trimmer, does anyone know whether you can cut small paper or whether there is a guide line that shows exactly where your cut is going to be? Also, is it heavy?

My PC one doesn't cut straight! There is too much movement in the blade slide so you don't get an exact right angle.
Would love either the purple cow or MM one, but I can't justify the extra cost. I tend to stick with using my craft knife and metal ruler!
