I went with hearts and wings too, can't get enough of them at the mo, slave to fashion me
here's mine:
went in the post yesterday, he might get it today, I'm nervous as hell as we've only been going out for 5 weeks (edited to add, it's actually 6 and a half weeks, I just worked it out, doesn't time fly when you're having fun? )
[quick how-it-was-done:
ecoline background over perfect pearls (makes it all nice and shimmery)
heart and wings painted with acrylics then dusted with copper pearl ex when the paint was still tacky
"valentine" cut out using a Cricut to let the black card blank show through
finished off with a bit of my precious 7 gyppos gaffer tape (I tell you, I must be smitten with this man, I LOVE my gaffer tape and am usually reluctant to use it on anything cos I'm scared of using it all up!)]
Amy! love the heart marking on your dog! what a PERFECT photo for a card, clever, witty and so personal to the two of you. I couldn't see it in your gallery though.
Loads of the other cards are fab too, some really clever ones done on the old Robo
Proper_Pixie...I love love LOVE your luckenbooth stamp ....where did you get it? I want!!!
Curias..love the way you have made the heart with chipboard scrolls, clever, and looks beautiful
Maffie love the felt heart on yours
EllePiggo (great name lol), love both of yours too, chipboard always looks so effective, I should use it more
Tracy love the blacks and greens on yours
Germgirl, love yours too
Sorry for any I haven't mentioned specifically, they are all fab
lots of lucky blokes out there, here's hoping they appreciate all this hard work, eh?
(mine just rang, only left for work 20 mins ago, so I would expect the post to have been, but he didn't say anything, so either it hasn't turned up, or he hates it I'm hoping the former .....it's my mum's birthday today and I know when she was alive her birthday cards often turned up a day late as the post office seemed to process all the V-Day cards together to arrive in a batch, and her birthday cards would get caught up in the that, so fingers crossed he'll get it tomorrow.....)
Flo, my post comes anytime from around 10.30 until 12.30, so his post may not have turned up yet....
Love your card, I feel the same way as you about using some of my bits as I dont want to use them all up!!! lol (Guess we could always buy more, but it just isn't the same)...
Flo did I see you mention you came from Buckhurst Hill, I used to live in Barkingside and went to school in Chigwell, and Youth Club at Buckhurst Hill, in fact my first DH came from BH.
I went to school in Loughton, and lived in Buck Hill down near the Monkhams Inn and Roding Valley station
Left to go to Uni though, and never went back
I just went to look at your profile to see if I could find a birthday, in case we went to yoof club together Couldn't find a birthdate - but, do you really have 10 kids???? wow!
Wow, there are some lovely cards on this thread, the Tim Holtz one stands out esp, and I now have far, far too many ideas to use and am wondering how early I can get DH to go to bed tonight so that I can sit and make one...yup last minute that's me!
Lost since 2011 and returning in a confused state.
Eeep! Still got to make mine. Been poorly for a few days and haven't got organised. I even nearly bought one this afternoon but just couldn't bring myself to. So I've popped on here for inspiration and there are some lovely cards, well done!
ignore the pic below, just testing if I can still embed a pic from photobucket into a post, as I thought we couldn't do that any more, but you seem to be able to
