oh, I've had a phone call and my cricut is going to be in the shop next week . They will telephone me for rest of payment, then it will be heading my way. Oh, getting very excited now .

But do I open it or keep it until Christmas Day??!!?? Trouble is my mum and MIL have paid towards it so I think it would be best for me to keep it rather then them argue who gets to wrap it and hand it to me

I've read a thread somewhere that said using spray adhesive invalidates the guarantee. I don't know if this is true, or was just to make us buy new cutting mats. I suspect the latter, but I can't find it now to check. Just to be safe tho, I'm saving my non-sticky mats and will spray them when the guarantee runs out!

    How would they ever know???

You wouldn't have to send the mat in for repair or if it was faulty

I can't see how the spray adhesive would invalidate the guarantee . I think it's just to make you buy the cutting mats. The cutting mat still has loads of life left in it but needs adhesive to be able to use it. You'd think they would make their own form of adhesive with 'cricut' on the can - in fact I might email them about it to them.

I think the thinking behind the 'not using spray adhesive' is that if the spray adhesive goes to the edges of the mat it might get stuck to the rollers and they might not roll properly IYSWIM...however I'm sure this can be overcome if masking tape is used to mask off the areas that are not meant to be sticky!
