Can anyone help me with any ideas for a card for a 1 year old boy. Making one as a favour for someone and dont know little boy. No kids so bit clueless? Any ideas appreciated.
I have found cards in the shape of the number very popular. You can then decorate with patterened paper or peel offs. There are websites that have templates if you are interested. You could also pick a character from TV ( Cbeebies has lots of pictures) or use Google images. I've even found some decopage in the past.
PM me for weblinks of you are interested.
i have just done a card for a 1 yr old girl and i did a huge number 1 ,i cut it out of a beermat ,,,a blank one unused !!!
then i painted it and tied all pink ribbons round it ,it looked really cute
I've just done one for a 4yr old - and just cut a 4 out of mountboard, and covered it with paper. Then wrote his name along the slanted side of the 4 with rub-ons - looked fab. Have to admit, the 4 was all straight lines, so easier to do than a 5 or 3.

This is a card I've made a few times for !st birthdays. It's a rubber stamp. I've painted the towel and duck with water colour paints. Thought it might give you other ideas, like the 1 stamped as a background.
I've made first birthday cards from a very thick acetate base and have sewn fur on and added safety eyes and nose to make it look like a bear or lion etc. depending on fabric - the idea being that it's safe and durable for the child to play with then. Others I used different fabrics on so there was a choice of textures for them to feel. My youngest's card has already lasted two years.
