Help, I can't find Pucklechurch on my map. Where is it close to?
We could go and check it out on Sunday.

Had no problems finding the Chocolate Factory next to Somerdale!! LOL

Well, the interview went really well, the boss wants Dh to have the job.
Dh has now got to go to Oxford for a second interview which will include taking a 'Thomas Test' to see what type of Manager he is.
If all goes well and they give the position to him, we will all be moving in June or July.

Looked around to the left side of Bath (not in Bath itself) but not really what we are looking for (liked Newton St Loe though), next time we are looking above Bath, below Bristol if that makes sense!
Places like Bitton, Hinton, Pucklechurch, West Littleton, Doynten, Cold Ashton, Dyrham, Wick.
Are these nice places, village settings?
We don't want to live in a town but don't want to be too far away from one. Dh will be working in Longwell Green, so needs to be easy for him to get to work and I will have all the school runs to do (if we can get the kids into schools!)

Well Done to your DH for doing well at his interview!

If I were you I would draw a circle around DH's work place out to the distance he is prepared to travel.

Then look at schools within this area if this is your main concern - look up the ofsted reports etc - altho persoanlly I find these a heap of cr** cos they are never truly a sign of a good or bad school as so much fiddling goes on with the reports (I KNOW it does )

The only MAIN shopping towns around Longwell Green are Bath and Bristol City centres.

Most of the areas you mention ARE village type places - with a few shops and pubs - most don't even have a decent supermarket - but so long as you can drive it shouldn't be a problem!

It really does depend on your personal needs - I could HAPPILY live in a tiny village with just a corner shop - and I DON'T drive - but I have very little need for anything else - although internet connection would be essential for me! One of my priorities is a decent vet - might not be a necessity to you though! lol

Good luck to DH with the job. As TracyJ says, most of the paces you mention are little more than villages. Pucklechurch has a village shop/post office and a bakery, la least three pubs, a church and a hairdressers - but i think that's about it. Best thing to do is treat yourself to a drive around to see what takes your fancy!
