Thank you ladies,
Yes I think it would make a nice background, I think.
Would you believe I’ve never tried heat embossing ! Might have to give
it a go

I didn't do it for ages Ellie because I was so bad at stamping but with the precision press I now love heating embossing and even manage to stamp okay without the precision press too. I think it has given me that boost of confidence I needed. Hubby loves watching the way the embossing powder changes, he's like a kid, thinks it's magical.
I still love the way embossing powder turns as it cures. I bought my first (and only) heat tool @18 years ago when the Ally Pally craft show used to be at the Commonwealth Institute. I don't heat emboss so often these days but still find it magical.
I love heat embossing too. I’m like your DH Susie..I love watching it heat and bubble.
Must get myself a heat gun and try it then.
I’ve seen it done, but never done it myself.

I am a bit hit miss with heat embossing but I think thats to do with the card I stamp on the emboss powders do vary I have more expensive personal impressions ones and cheapies lots of my stamps are wood mounted as at one time they all where and had my stamps ages but I hold my breath I noticed when I stamp esp if directly onto card
It is nice if have the time to plat with different effects with one stamp as the finished look does vary
It wasnt till after I did my beat the christmas rush and turned the one that went wrong I thought I could cut the card short and stamped on the inside
I tell you what I like to do but not in ages shrink plastic :o

Ellie - you haven't lived! I love heat embossing - been doing it for years. I wish I could find my battery charger for my camera - really frustrating because I've been making quite a lot but cant photograph them. I could use my phone, but then can't transfer to laptop.
Sheila ,can’t you take a photo with your phone, and send it in an email to your puter.
Then save to your photos and then print it off.
A bit of a faff, but it can be done.

I can't believe you mentioned shrink plastic Denise, hubby and I were just discussing it. I never really did much of it but it seems to be making quite a come back and he said he loved the 'other magic one' which was that. It's all such clever stuff and don't get me wrong, I still get a huge kick out of seeing the embossing powder change but watching hubby's reaction is something else.
I bought some WOW glitter embossing powders but wasn't impressed because they sort of blend into the background too much. But by using a similar colour to stamp with first, it lifts the whole thing and makes it comes to life. Having the precision press allows you to do that too. I just embossed a stamp in silver and it has come out lovely, I'll get a photo and post it. This could go on the front of the card or as an insert.
Do you have an Apple Mac or a PC? I have an Apple and I Airdrop them from my phone to my iPad or wait for them to come through on the cloud?
I picked out a tag today that was stamped said resist embossing I must have done it a long time ago just refresh my memory how I did it
I think you mentioned a while ago Susie
Glad to hear shrink plastic making a come back
You stamped it with Versamark ink (the clear looking stuff) and sprinkled the embossing powder on the stamped image and used your heat gun on it. Does that ring any bells now Denise?
We were just discussing heat embossing after we went to the show in Newark, decided we needed to have the heat gun on the desk so we remember to use it. I must have had my heat gun for ages too, probably 20 years or so ! It’s funny watching the powder turn, at first it seems like its not working then suddenly it starts to change !
Lovely cards ladies, well done to those who have done your Christmas cards, I need to do mine tonight :)
Finally managed my BTCR cards, with a vague ‘nature’ theme...
