So sorry about your ill health Mary Anne this year, hope you start to feel a little better soon.
As for UKS, I still visit regularly and find the site a huge inspiration still. I would miss the site terribly if it folded, as I have just had a magazine I subscribed to end, so would have crafty cash to help support the site. I try to use sponsors, but as there are fewer to choose from it's tricky.

Well, thanks to all for the kind words and well wishes.
I can see that there are still people who value the forum experience :)
I'll do my best to find a way to keep it going for ONE MORE YEAR (I have said that for the last few years and it has worked out, more or less) and see what happens.
Frankly, making UKS a Pay to Play site would take a bit more money than I think it would be worth to restructure it and block people from access. I would rather depend on those who have the ability and the inclination to donate what they feel they can afford, but it might be worth waiting just to be sure the sponsors we still have do come thru in the clutch! I would hate for people to donate then find I couldn't scrape up the bare minimum I need from the sponsors!
I'll keep you posted. At the very least I do promise if at all humanly possible I will give you a month before shutting the doors so people can download whatever they feel they have to have.
thanks again
Mary Anne

I am very happy to report that Graphtec, who is a huge part of the sponsorship picture, has confirmed they will sponsor for 2018! That in itself begins to tip the scales towards UKS staying open for 2018.
Just a bit of good news that I thought I would share.
I have widened the net a bit and gone back to businesses that were 2016 sponsors but not 2017 sponsors, to see if any would want to come back. Mostly getting NOs but it only takes a few to say YES for things to carry on.
Hope you are checking on the Christmas Countdown every day too - MiniOwner has worked very hard to get this project off the ground. It seems already to be responsible for a number of new registrations, so do pop in and have a look HERE - so far, I like all the projects, but I am particularly taken with the project from today. I am a total sucker for a mini-book!

That’s great news MaryAnne, hope you get some more positive replies.
Thankyou Graphtec :)

I really miss UK Scrappers I just logged in now and it told me the last time I did was July. :( I think for me if I could get on the site with my mobile I'd pop in more often but it doesn't work so I just don't get as many chances as before to just 'pop in'.

Wonderful news MaryAnne, keeping everything crossed here. I will keeping checking back to see if or how we can help. Meanwhile, keep on taking care of your health, even the stress of this will have a negative effect. Having said that, the great news from Graphtec will give you a boost. I will remain cautiously optimistic.:)

Great news MaryAnne - as they say "every little helps". but don't forget that there are lots of us out here who would be happy to contribute if there are enough folk around willing to run the site.

Lovely news Mary Anne. Hope you get some more to co-operate too
