Mod podge is stronger than PVA and has a sealant in so your project won;t peel, crack or go yellow in a couple of months.
I used some at a craft fair the other day, you use as little as possible as it is thinner than PVA, paste an area bigger than you need add your item then paste over it.
It dries quicker and is shinny, looks great.
Thank you. :)
pva is also a sealant :D in fact it is used AS a sealant.. if you grab a tub, add 50/50 water and pva, shake up well, you got yourself modpodge (yes, we were sad enough to read the chemical components)
if you want it to be glossy, just add a few drops of waterbased clear gloss to your jar, shake it all up again and youll have a shiny finish.
I agree Mod Podge is better, I used to use PVA all the time but then noticed older project were weaker after time, starting to peel etc. Mod Podge is stronger for longer and it really does go a log way, so is not as expensive as it looks.
If you can get the selection pack of minis it's great value, I like trying the glitter / matt / gloss finishes etc for different projects. x
PVA dries quicker and is less tacky imo=Mod Podge seems to be tacky forever.
Mod podge is a brand, where as Pva is an generic glue and can be made by many brands. Pva will always be cheaper, but is also not as refined. Depends what you are using it for, If it is something you want to look good for a long time, then I would go Mod podge. I've generally always watered down Pva, but im' not doing furniture, so don't think for me it would be worth it.
