Just set up my new Cameo and ruined a small part of the mat because of
setting wrong cardstock weight .Bummer. I have a brand new Craft Robo mat, could I use this for a few practice runs if I adjust the roller? I would be grateful for any input.

Thanks for the help, I did set it up with my Craft Robo mat but when I sent the design it said load 13" mat, should i just ignore it?
I think for carrier sheet I chose either A4 or original, take the blade out and send it to cut, watch what happens any problems try the other option, or you could use a any old biro on hand if you have the pen holder, then you can see it draw the design in stead, if it draws OK it should cut OK.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. I have used the old mats in the cameo and I also use the 12 x 12 cricut mats aswell as the 12 x 24 cricut mats too....
If you've made a great deep gouge in the centre of your mat/carrier you should still be able to use it - just try to avoid that area when placing your template and card. If it's badly marked all over it's often still possible to use it when you are doing simple cuts such as squares or circles.
If you're going to use the solid Robo carrier be aware that placing/cutting will be different because of the different amount and type of feed in required - i.e. manual vs automatic. People have used all sorts of (suitable!) stuff for their carriers quite successfully, so most other brands will probably work; I regularly use the Cricut ones.

I also use the cricut mat's in my Cameo too, they are easier to cover when finished than the Silhouette carriers
