First attempt with watercolor pencils and aqua brush was not too successful. Are you best to color in whole thing and then add water. Or do it color by color and if adding extra shading to you then do it on top of that.
Thanks

I'm not very good with an aquabrush so use a paintbrush but the way I do it is to colour onto a scrap piece of paper, add some water with a paintbrush and lift the colour from there. Not very good at the shading though so will watch this thread with interest!
When I use my water colours I usually take the aqua brush to the pencil, have a bit of scrap paper to 'dab' before I take it to the image to be coloured as it can be a bit dark to start with, and its better to darken it after than to start dark because because then its very difficult to change it.
I do it two ways. Like Marlene mostly take the waterbrush to the pencil. The other way is I take the watercolour crayon and colour around the edges or places where the darker bits are and then using the waterbrush I draw the colour into the other areas which are lighter. Hope that makes sense!
thanks for all your advise. will let you know how i get on
Have you tried to use le plume with brushes and water. I draw around for example the sweather and then I use brushes and water and drag the coulor in to the middle. that way you get shadows.. You can look at the picture to see what I mean.. :D
They are beautiful!

Your Cards are really lovely. Might go and get some pens as hubby told be to buy something for valentine day. Don't know if local shop will have marvy pens. Will whispers work the same( I know they sell them) or am I better waiting and getting some marvys online.
You are probably better off waiting. I have both Marvys & whispers pens, & the Marvys have better pigmentation & are wetter than the Whispers pens which makes them easier to use. Check out the auction site, you can get a 12 pack of Marvy le Plume II's for under £10 incl p&p :D Cheaper than the Whispers ones!
