We did some test cuts years ago with some of the Craft Robos, and found this was the case. The Portrait has much more oomph behind it so will manage better! As far as I can remember Graphtec also confirmed it was OK with the Robos, but said to watch for bits getting into the blade housing.

PS And I would suggest that you don't try to cut too detailed shapes - or at least till you see how things go.
Is the only difference between the Potrait and the Cameo the size? I remember reading that somewhere, but cann't remember where.
I think the portrait is described as the smaller sister of the cameo.
